Where does the name Hokusai come from?

It honors Katsushika Hokusai, the famous Japanese artist behind The Great Wave, who worked in many art styles during his life. Just as this generator does.

Truly free, with clear rules.

  • At a fair pace

    There is no fixed number of images. The system manages each user's pace: only a few images are made at the same time and, when many are requested, the rest wait in line. Use far above normal can be paused for a while.

  • Up to 768 pixels

    Square at 768 x 768, portrait at 512 x 768 and landscape at 768 x 512, with up to 4 images per request.

  • Restricted content

    The generator refuses adult content and any request involving minors.
